As part of a recruitment process for a product company, I was given a case to solve and then present to the UX team. I was given 6 hours to complete the case, and the focus was on the whole design process, including both research, ideation and how to evaluate the product, rather than pixel perfect prototypes. Below follows the case brief and my proposed solution.
As climate changes, railways across Europe are affected and trains are frequently delayed. Research shows that people waiting for trains are quite bored and often tend to use their smartphones for passing the time. Railway companies have been in contact with our company because they want to launch a service to use at train stations around Europe to make it less boring to wait for delayed trains.
1. Come up with a few ideas for how our company could help these railway companies entertain delayed passengers at train stations
2. Select one of these ideas (the one you think has the most potential to engage passengers)
3. Explain the chosen idea in more detail, along with a plan for how to evaluate it with users
